Sebastien Gauthier

Sébastien Gauthier is an astronomer, head of programming, and producer at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium in Montréal. He’s worked in science communication and museum technologies for more than 20 years. He recently directed the award-winning fulldome films EXO and aurorae. He also produced Tempo, Pluto: Chronicles of an Ex-planet, and One Day on Mars.

Gauthier is known for a directing style that combines science, arts, and philosophy with a strong storytelling approach. He’s interested in pushing the boundaries of the fulldome cinematic language. Filming actual fulldome footage also plays an important role in his work, which has led him to several technological innovations.
