As the immersive community grows and changes, IMERSA recognizes the need to evaluate its goals and mission. To that end, the board directed a strategic planning exercise that began with an analysis of where the organization has been and what it has accomplished. By the end of 2016, IMERSA plans to release a draft of our five-year-strategic plan, with special emphasis on next steps for engaging its members. IMERSA’s success in bringing the immersive community together to focus on common interests has resulted in the formation of “special interest groups” within our larger population of immersive professionals. These are focused on education, developing standards and addressing the needs of fulldome artists and performers. Our projects reflect our progress in these important initiatives.
