Philippe Baylaucq

A fine arts graduate in London, Ontarian Philippe Baylaucq is known for his video as well as cinematographic work. His work is marked by constant formal research and a taste for technological innovation.

Many times rewarded, his films show a clear interest in the different artistic disciplines: architecture and design (Barcelona, ​​1985, he was twice a garden, 2010), painting (Mystery B., 1997, The colors of the blood, 2000), photograph (Moving Sands, 2002), dance (Lodela, 1996, Ora, 2011). Versatile, he also produced a children's musical tale (Hugo and the Dragon, 2001), a science film (Brain Dynamics, 2008) and a moving documentary about the healing quest of a bereaved father (The Kabul magician, 2008). Since 2014, Philippe Baylaucq has created several immersive 360 ​​° works for the Montréal Planetarium (Tempo 2014, Aurōrae 2015, Kyma 2017) and explored the creative process of immersive works for specialized venues and has produced Un jour sur le Pont Franchère (2017) at Musée Pointe-à-Callière in Montreal, Ingenia (2018) at the Canada Science and Technology Museum and The Last 100 Days (2018) at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. He is currently working on another 360° production ISA (2020) in collaboration with the Montreal Planetarium.
