Originally from the UK, Julia Redwood jointly established Prospero Productions in Perth, Western Australia in 1991.

Prospero has now become one of the leading independent documentary production companies in Australia. In addition to being joint managing director, Julia is a multi-award winning Executive Producer, Producer, Director and Writer. In 1998 her highly acclaimed directorial debut, Paying for the Piper, was nominated for two AFI awards, a Royal Television Society award and won the Golden Spire Award at the 2000 San Francisco Film Festival.

Julia has made nearly 300 hours of television across a broad spectrum of roles and has now brought all her skills of story-telling to the fulldome screen producing and executive producing two ambitious 4K, live action fulldome films, Ningaloo – Australia’s Other Great Reef and Mission: Whalesong with a third, Star Dreaming, in development.

Julia is highly active in the screen industry, currently she is a member of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPA), the Screenwest Board Advisory Committee and Deputy Chair of Screen Voice - this coupled with her extensive creative talents and many years of experience in the marketplace makes Julia one of the leading figures in the Australian film industry.
