Welcome Julieta

IMERSA is very pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Julieta Aguilera as the newest member of our Board of Directors.

Julieta is a visualization expert with particular expertise and research experience in scientific visualizations for exhibitions and planetarium shows. For the past two years, she has been an enthusiastic member of IMERSA's Advisory Council.

"Julieta brings a great deal of research and academic background to our board," said Dan Neafus, IMERSA Executive Director. "She has worked with scientists, artists, and writers, and has presented at various meetings and conferences about the integration of immersive, collaborative and scientific visualization. We are pleased to be adding her extensive and vibrant experiences to our mutual store of expertise on the board."

Julieta is a native of Chile, and completed her doctoral work at Plymouth University in the United Kingdom. Her most recent experience in immersive space has been at Chicago's Adler Planetarium. She has also worked with the University of Hawai'i in Hilo, and makes regular contributions to various journals, including SIGGRAPH, IEEE, VISAP, and the Leonardo Electronic Journal.
