IMERSA is honored to present the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award to Greg MacGillivray, whose contributions to dome-theater experiences are reflected in a successful career creating more than 38 large format films and crossing the billion dollar worldwide box office mark.

Greg and his partners have traveled to exotic, challenging, and exciting places on our planet to tell their stories. Their films have won numerous international awards including two Academy Award® nominations and three works inducted into the IMAX Hall of Fame. Although was on location shooting his latest film and will not be able to attend the Summit personally, filmmaker Greg MacGillivray has prepared a special presentation for us called How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Dome. Through prerecorded video and fulldome content transferred from 15/70 film, Greg shared his vision and passion for creating immersive films that work extremely well in dome theaters. His son Shaun MacGillivray, accepted the award on his father’s behalf.
