Dr. Donna Cox is keynote speaker at IMERSA Summit 2014, Denver March 6-9

Dr Donna Cox: "I am looking forward to giving the keynote talk at IMERSA Summit 2014, and speaking about the importance of computational science, its growth and what it really means, how it evolved and how it plays into the future. Combined with the flexibility of fulldome, it can help in expanding content beyond astronomy to other domains."

Introducing Dr Cox to the IMERSA Summit delegates will be Jeff Jortner, president of SIGGRAPH.

Donna J. Cox, MFA, PhD, is the University of Illinois’s first Michael Aiken Chair, Director of the Advanced Visualization Laboratory (AVL) at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Director of the Illinois Emerging Digital Research and Education in Arts Media Institute (eDream), and Professor in the School of Art and Design at the College of Fine and Applied Arts. She is a recognized pioneer in scientific visualization for public outreach and education and originator of the collaborative model of Renaissance Teams and the concept of visaphors (digital metaphors of computational science).

Award winning fulldome shows to be featured at IMERSA 2014 Summit

group awardee pic"Best of the best" - Fulldome shows that received top honors at recent top festivals will be screened and discussed at the 2014 IMERSA Summit, March 6-9 in Denver. They are To Space and Back, Dinosaurs at Dusk, Flight of the Butterflies, MUSICA: Why is the Universe Beautiful? and Dream to Fly. (Supervolcanoes and The Life of Trees also received top honors; they will be represented and discussed but not screened in full, as they were shown at the previous Summit)
